Jacob Cass speaks to “Building A Personal Brand” in his TEDx talk.
His talk covers the fundamentals of building a personal brand through blogging and social networking. I think this talk would be most relevant to those who have never considered the personal brand universe before and are interested in getting a basic introduction.
I find myself quite drawn to the argument of creating your own brand, even if you have no intention of running your own business or doing freelance work. A cohesive social media presence and a regularly updated, topical (to your areas of interest) blog create a more lasting impression than a single sheet of paper. There’s also a higher level of ownership that must be present for a person to take the extra time to create a personal brand.
What do you think? Is it important to have an online presence in today’s world of work?
