A little while ago I received a question that contained a sentiment that I think a lot of us can relate to.
It went something like this, “i want to be independent, live a luxurious life, do what i love for my career and at the same time be successful.”
Or in other words, “I want it all!”
All these lovely things- the hefty bank account, the fulfilling career, the recognition of your achievements- are certainly possible.
And knowing that you want those things is a good first step.
But there’s a second, more important, step that seems to get overlooked a lot.
What are you willing to put up with in order to get what you want?
Here are just a few things that are probably lining the path to that dream life:
- Bad days
- Time and money invested in education/ training
- Starting at the bottom
- Lower income while you’re learning the ropes
- Doing things you don’t feel like doing
- Stepping out of your comfort zone
- Difficult people
- Hard work
- Consistent effort
- Facing fears
- Being vulnerable
- Showing up day after day
- Making mistakes
- Taking risks
- Asking for help
A lot of us want it all.
The people who are willing to put up with all the challenges along the way are the ones who actually get it.
