Hi Alison! I always look forward to your newsletter because It gives me to the point information in a quick text or video. I either learn something new or I’m reminded of something I might have forgotten.
Thank you for being a positive influence and Happy Thanksgiving! 🙂
K.
Thanks for kicking off the feedback thread Karen. Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
Hi Alison:
I always look forward to your newsletter and videos, they always seem to come at just the right time! Something that I’d love to hear a little more about is people’s success stories in making a transition to a new career. I find I learn so much from others and get inspired by them as well. Thanks for all that you do.
Amanda
Aha- great idea Amanda! And thank you for your kind words.
Hi, Alison –
I really like your Popular Posts today. They cover some of my most critical issues in the current stage of my job search. I had been beginning to feel stuck, and “Voila!”–some ideas that might just start me off in a brand new, and productive, direction.
Thanks,
Howie
Super helpful to know Howie. Thanks for the feedback! I’m also so glad that the posts supported you in getting unstuck and moving forward.
Hi Alison,
I enjoy reading your blog because I think your choice of job as a career coach is especially intriguing. You offer so much information and through reading your blog I have been able to pinpoint the one element of my job that needs improvement.
Thanks for the input Susan! I’m glad my work helped you gain insight into your job, and I hope that one element can be improved!
Hi Alison,
I enjoy watching your videos. You seem comfortable and conversational and it’s a reminder that videos are a great way to connect. I love your genuine authenticity as you talk about your first giveaway and I think the idea of a journal w/a guide is a beautiful, thoughtful gift, representative of your approach to your work.
Happy Thanksgiving!
~Deb
Thanks so much for your thoughtful feedback Deb! I’m glad you like the videos. 🙂
Alison, I love being a part of your community. During my career transition, I have felt deeply supported by your work. While I have not had the pleasure of working with you in depth, I have been fortune enough to connect with you during a complimentary phone session (which was incredibly helpful). I find your videos, newsletter, and blog to be an incredible resource and again, I want to express how grateful I am for the support. As far as what I would like to see more of, I actually have a rather odd and unrelated request: I would like to see more color in your videos and presentations. I feel that small splashes of color here and there could enhance the community and make it richer….
Great to hear from you Renee! I’m happy to know that you’ve felt supported through your transition by being a part of my community. I love your suggestion too! Be patient with me on this one though- it may take me a little while to implement your advice as visual design is not my strong suit. ;P
Hi Alison,
I love your community because it’s nice not to feel alone! You seem to live in the real world with the rest of us, and that is essential for a guide. (Curly hair is a bonus, cause I know you understand that struggle, too!)
Also, I still refer back to my notes from Energize Your Workweek, and have made some changes since September. Very helpful. Thanks, and Happy Thanksgiving!!
How sweet Sue. It’s wonderful to hear that the community we’ve got going here is serving it’s purpose. That’s great about the EYW materials inspiring you to make some changes too! (One of these days I’ll have to do a video with my bed head curly hair. It’s a sight to behold.) Happy Thanksgiving!
Hi Alison,
Congratulations on Thanksgiving! Thank you for sending your encouragement thru blog. When starting my real lifetime job search, I have had a struggle. But your blog is a lot of help to guide me to a better worklife so I was able to pull myself out to make a good decision for my brighter future. And you are mentoring and coaching people by showing your real life experiences and enterpreneurship. I can feel your genuine kind personality from your blog and video. Hope you will continue your work and help others. I am thankful of your work.
P.S. I don’t live in U.S.and don’t celebrate TG, but hope you all enjoy Thanksgiving!
Thanks for stopping by to comment Masa! I’m so glad that my blog has been helpful to you. Best of luck!
Alison,
Your calm and caring personality was most helpful. You knew exactly what I needed at each session and always acknowledged and honored how I felt, which was key to moving forward to a new outlook on my part. The work we did together was extremely productive and I thought that you always picked the right direction to lead our call. You were quick to send out a cheer for all the things that went well or that I tried, which motivated me to keep trying. Also, DOING an exercise or activity that pushed me to think differently was key to helping me create new patterns in my life (even when you weren’t there to help). I often asked myself, “What would Alison do?” Or, “How would Alison handle this?” and those questions helped me to take positive steps with my career, work life balance, socializing, exercising and even my dog :o). I am grateful for all of your effort and hard work!
Hooray! Great to hear from you Emily, and thank you so much for sharing your experience working with me. You rock!
I know just what you mean about thinking about ‘how Alison would handle something’. I do that too with coaches I admire. 🙂
I enjoy the videos and appreciate a workplace type of motivation. I just went through a very hard time in my personal life and am working hard at adopting an “attitude of gratitude”. It has changed my life. Although I’m not perfect at it, I actively seek opportunities to practice gratitude on a daily basis and have found your pieces to help with that!
Happy Thanksgiving!
So happy to hear that my work has supported you through your transition Cheryl. Gratitude is an amazing force. Hope you had a good holiday!
