We don’t mean to get a little cheesy here, but it’s 100% true that you can turn your dreams into reality.
And there isn’t a super secret way to do it either.
Now, doesn’t that feel like a relief?
First, let’s talk about those life-changing dreams.
6:00pm at work
You wish the day was over already. You wish it was that moment when your head hits the pillow and sends you into the oblivion of dreamless sleep.
Then you remember you haven’t slept well for months. The constant stress you’re under at work leaves you tossing and turning at night, as though the answers to all your worries can only be found at 1am, then 2am, then 3:30am…
It almost feels as though your alarm clock is taunting you about your inability to get a good night’s sleep.
You can’t remember the last night you had a great night’s rest and you’re so tired you rarely remember your dreams.
The idea of having a career you love feels just like that – a far off distant dream that you’ve no idea how to make a reality.
Turning your vision into reality can be tough.
You find all sorts of reasons why you can’t take the next step.
You wonder if you are asking too much of yourself.
Then, your initial enthusiasm begins to wane when you run into obstacles.
But, imagine…
6:00pm
You left work on time and still have energy left for the evening ahead. It’s not that you didn’t work hard today (you did), but there’s a huge difference doing work that’s a good match for your talents and personality.
Now work leaves you feeling energized rather than depleted and defeated.
Time to hang out at the low-key neighborhood restaurant near you and spend some time with people that you love. There’s an ease about you that you never thought you’d feel again.
You no longer have to pretend to be enjoying yourself and when people ask how your day went, you’re pleased to talk about it. You’ve become one of those people that used to annoy you so much, one of the ones who has work that they enjoy.
Connection with others, romance, healthier choices – all of these have become so much easier now that you’re in the right work.
You worked to figure out what you wanted to do.
Then it was a matter of taking the little steps you needed to take to get to where you are now. You decided what you wanted and went for it without letting fear get in your way.
What small step could you put on the calendar today to get closer to making your dreams your reality?
