Sampling of Organizer Feedback
It was a pleasure having you come and speak! I don’t think that I have ever seen so many folks wait around after the event to talk with the speaker, which I think is a good indicator of how well you engaged people.“ -Dana Kaasik, Graduate Research Assistant, Center for NonProfit Studies at George Mason University, Arlington, Virginia
Alison worked diligently to develop content, find a venue, and recruit fellow alumni clubs to join Cornell alums in a session on “Developing a Winning Career Plan,” a pertinent topic in today’s ever-changing economic environment. Alison presented worthwhile information to a group of about 60 guests, with a networking session to follow, further adding value to the event. She was communicative and easy to work with and the event was a success for all!“ -Lindsay Shattenstein, Young Alumni, Cornell Club of Washington, D.C.
You were just perfect!!!! Thanks, Alison, so very much! Our folks are so hungry and appreciative when someone takes the time to be with them. You have given them valuable tools for a lifetime. Alison’s salary negotiation talk helped me negotiate a 20% salary increase, signing bonus, and relocation assistance when I was accepting a new job. Most importantly, Alison’s workshop gave me the confidence to successfully navigate multiple rounds of negotiation while maintaining a constructive and friendly relationship with my future employers. Her insights and teaching style helped me tremendously, and the information I gained from this workshop will continue to serve me in many other professional and personal situations that require negotiation.” – J.C.
Before attending Alison’s salary negotiation workshop, I only had a rough idea of how to ask for a raise. But I had no idea how to present myself in a professional manner for the presentation; she gave us strong examples of how to bring in materials, what words to use, and most importantly what to avoid.“ -Tara A.
I have been on both sides of the negotiation table – but it wasn’t until I participated in Alison’s workshop that I was able to understand the psychological dynamics of negotiating – from both perspectives. An eye opening experience.” – Randi in Virginia
Before I attended Alison’s Negotiating presentation, I was not confident about handling salary negotiations. Now, I feel like I have the tools to discuss salary requirements during an interview and negotiate a salary that I can be happy with. Thanks for the tools!” -Nona O.
